Pakie O’Donoghue (LIPF)

Congratulations to Blackwater Photographic Society member Pakie O’Donoghue on his success at the IPF Distinction sitting in Thurles Institute of Technology recently. Pakie was awarded his Licentiateship Distinction of the Irish Photographic Federation (LIPF) by president of the IPF Michael O Sullivan after his panel if images were assessed by a panel of experienced photographers. The Licentiate requires a panel of ten printed images to be presented. The panel may be general subject matter or in a specialist category and must demonstrate competence in all key areas of camera skill.
Well done and congratulations Pakie.

Big Win for Blackwater Club Members

A very big congratulations to Blackwater Photographic society members Kieran O Mahony and Thomas Healy who picked up awards at the Southern Association of Camera Clubs Photographer of the year awards yesterday.
Kieran O Mahony received the Silver medal and an honourable mention in the advanced projected image section & Thomas Healy got an honourable mention in the non advanced colour print open section.
Congrats also to other members of the club, Connie Sheehan, Joe Whyte, Valerie Walsh & Pakie O Donoghue on having their images qualify to through for the National finals to be held next year.

Cork Camera Group visit tonight & other notices

To all our members – we have cork camera group visiting us tonight. This is sure to be a great and informative night so we’d encourage all members to attend. Also – please bring your images for next weeks competition. Next – if you had images in the National shield, please bring €7 for your mounted print. And finally, we’re collecting €10 deposit tonight for our Christmas party in December.

Model Night Nov 2016

The Model night was a fantastic success with a very large attendance and hopefully everybody got some great shots.We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the beautiful and very accommodating models Ina, Ona and Kristine,and also to Katriona of the Vintage Clothing shop at Joseph’s road who supplied all of the stunning outfits worn by the models.look forward to seeing some of your results.

The Model shoot was as always one of the best nights of the year and a great opportunity for photographers of all abilities to work with studio lights. We would also like to thank everybody who helped with organizing the lights and props etc.

Next Monday night We have three members of The Cork Camera Club presenting their work. Great photographers don’t miss it.
