A number of members from Blackwater Photographic Society had an evening photo shoot at Platform3 Studio in cork city recently. We had full use of the studio and lighting setup and our model for the evening was Hannah. Dave Edmunds (from Platform3 http://www.platform3photo.com/ ) went through various lighting equipment, Backgrounds, techniques etc and Hannah was excellent, striking various poses and encouraging all the photographers to help us get the most from the evening. Next Monday niight there will be a display of portfolios from club members  Valerie Walshe , Tom Cashman , Finbarr Murphy ,Paddy McCallaibh , Oliver Deady and Pat Kerrigan . Looking forward to a good night , please come along and support fellow members

Blackwater Photographic Society has it’s annual exhibition on show in the Mallow Library since last Thursday. It’ll be on display for around 2 weeks. Many of our members were new to photography when the club was established in 2013, and this is a great opportunity to see the progress of skill and creativity achieved after a year’s membership in this local photography club. Call in, take a look and tell us what you think. Blackwater Photography Society meets every Monday night 8:30 p.m. in the function room at The Arches Bar Bellevue Mallow and new members are always welcome

In the interest of safety due to adverse weather conditions tomorrows outing to Gouganebarra has been cancelled , it is hoped to reschedule the outing in the coming weeks

Our annual club outing to Dingle on Saturday 27th of December will go ahead as planned , some inclement weather expected so make sure you come prepared , leaving the Arches at 5.30 am

Our annual club outing to Dingle will take place on Saturday December 27th . The outing will be from dawn to dusk . We will visit some  beautiful beaches that  the Dingle Peninsula has to offer . We will depart from the Arches at 5.30 AM SHARP. Anyone not wanting to travel so early can meet up with us later in Dingle . As it will be a long day a packed lunch would be a good idea, also wellies , an umbrella and spare clothes. Hope to see you all there

This coming Monday (8th Dec) will be a night shoot will be in cork city. Leaving  the Arches at 7.15 and meeting in the entrance to paul street shopping centre AT 8pm.

If the weather is too bad then the back up plan is video and time lapse in the arches with Sean Murphy.

The theme for next Monday March 10 th is Where is it , What is it . This will be a fun night where  members will show their images and club members will try and identify Where and What they are.

The scheduled Night shoot for Monday March 3rd has been postponed due to the  bad  weather forecast .

The Club will convene as usual at 8.30 in the Arches where we will have a presentation of Portfolios by John Flynn and Rodney O  Callaghan
