First model shoot night this Monday (17th oct) and collecting images for upcoming B&W comp

Hi everyone. two notices for this week. Firstly this Monday (17th) we have the first of two Model Shoot nights this term. This is always a popular and busy night so please make sure to bring your Camera gear. We’ll be provide lighting and backgrounds.
 
Secondly – we have a Black & White themed competition coming up on Monday 24th Oct but we won’t be collecting any images on the night of the competition so instead we will be collecting all the competition images (print or digital) this Monday 17th Oct so make sure to bring your entries with you. Maximum 5 entries. You can also email your entries to Kieran at our new competition email address bpscompetition@gmail.com. This is to make sure we have all the time we need to run the competition. Thank you.

Still Life photography night Mon 10th October.

Hi everyone. Tomorrow night (10th Oct) is Still Life night. Please bring you camera gear including and Flash guns, tripods etc if you have them. Please also bring props with you so we’ll all have plenty to take photos of. This is always a great learning night and there’ll be plenty of photographers around to help out. See you all there.

First Open Competition 2016

We had a big entry for last Monday nights Open Competition, so big that we didn’t have enough time to add up all the scores and announce the winners on the night. There was some wonderful images on display on the night and the voting was extremely close in all levels. Thanks to everyone that took part and also to those who voted on the night.

New Season open evening on Monday 5th September

Hi everyone. On Monday the 5th of September we’ll have our open evening in the function room of  The Arches Bar Mallow at 8:30p.m. We’re welcoming everyone with an interest in photography to come along and see a presentation of out members photography work, both printed and Digital displays. We’ll also outline our club program for the coming season so it would be an ideal time to join our club if you’re interested. Photogrpaher of the Year Results

Photographer of the year 2016 was a great success. Well done to everyone who took part and a big Congratulations to the winners . Thanks to Kieran O Mahony and Sean Murphy for all the hard work getting the images and the score sheets ready for the competition . A very special thank you to Killarney club judges , John, Terry and Marek for traveling to judge the competition and all the advice the gave on the night, we really appreciate all your help. Another big thank you to cork County Mayor John Paul O Shea for taking time to come along on the night to present the prizes. Finally, thank you to all our club members for making our club such a great success. See you all in September.

The overall Photographer of the year (highest scoring photographer on the night, regardless of category Was Kieran O’Mahony.

Kieran also won highest scoring image on the night with a whopping 30 points out of 30.

 

 

 

Photographer of the Year cut-off date for entries Monday 9th May

To all our members – tonight (Monday 9th May) is the cut off date to bring in your images for Photographer of the Year. A maximum of 10 images per member. Print or projected, your choice. Remember to write your name on the back of all printed images.You must have 3 printed Black and White images if you want to take part in the Black & White Photographer of the Year section. Proposed changes to the Club Constitution

The following is a suggestion Amendment To Club Constitution by a club member. The amended parts are underlined. Please read them as they will be voted on at the upcoming AGM

The selection Committee.
The Selection Committee is responsible for the selection of members work to be entered into any external competitions or exhibitions entered by the Club.

The Selection Committee consists of Competition Secretary and assistant Competition Secretary and five elected members who can also be members of the general Committee. Selection Committee members are elected at the AGM.

A selection committee meeting can not take place unless there is at least five members present. If five of the selection Committee are not available for a selection committee meeting the Competition Secretary can invite any paid up club member or members, to take a position on the selection committee for that meeting.

When selecting images for national and international competitions all selection committee members shall have an initial vote for shortlisting images followed a numerical vote to form the basis of a panel.
