Thanks Dave for a wonderfully entertaining night and for bringing along your  home made time lapse equipment. I was most impressed with Dave’s use of his 3D printer to create the various bits of equipment required. Dave kicked off the night with a sample of his very impressive photography and Photoshop skills before moving  on to explain the various techniques and equipment used in time lapse photography. We also got to see Dave’s  library of wonderful time lapse clips taken around Ireland some of which have been included in Hollywood movies. Thanks again.

Dave Hunt will be our guest photographer tomorrow night. It should be a very interesting night and a great opportunity to pickup some photography tips as he’s also a gifted Photoshop user.Dave’s specialty is time lapse photography and designing and making the equipment necessary for same. Outing to Killarney Tomorrow Sat leaving Arches at 06.15 am or meet on road outside Hotel Europe in Killarney at 07.20. Weather looks good but bring suitable gear.

Jerry Creedons night on Aerial Photography was one of the best attended night in the club with forty five members attending on the night to see some of the most detailed images ever seen on our projector. We keep hearing that any camera over 12 mega pixels is unnecessary but it was obvious after seeing the presentation there is no substitute for pixels (40 meg in this case) with this type of photography. The battery powered image stabilizer Jerry used is also an essential piece of kit when shooting from a helicopter. A very informative and enjoyable night. Thanks Jerry for all the work.

On next Monday 9th February club member  Jerry Creedon will present some of his extensive library of aerial photos taken around Ireland. Jerry will concentrate mainly on county Cork and Kerry showing the scenic seascapes and coastal towns and villages. Images of Cork city, Cobh and Mallow town will also be included. All of the images are of superb quality, taken with a 40 Mega Pixel Hasselblad camera. Will be a great night,do not miss it.

It’s photo competition time – first one of 2015 and it’s this Monday 2nd of February. The theme for this one is Christmas/New year. You are allowed a maximum of 5 images. They must clearly indicate the theme which can be anything from Skating Rinks to New years eve drinks, from Christmas Tree decoration to a Santa suit Alsatian!! you get the message. See you then.

Outing to Gougane Barra this Sunday (18th Jan) leaving the Arches at 06:30. Dress for the weird weather. A group text will be issued on Sat and an update will be posted on the web site to confirm the outing status.

My pictures, my art is simply an extension of who I am.
I adore shooting weddings because I just don’t shoot weddings in a regimented way, but create images that reflects the mood. I tell the natural story of your special day. The beauty of a wedding is that the occasion creates itself. I love the way it just happens and that nothing is prescriptive. The people, the romance, the moments and my role is to narrate the story of your Wedding day through my lens.

Members are requested to bring there photographs (printed only) on Monday night as the clubs photography exhibition in the Mallow Library is being finalized.Photo mounts should be available on the night.

This coming Monday night (15th Dec) will be our last meeting for 2014. it’s a competition night with the theme of “Shapes”. Maximum 5 images per member. Images can be digital or printed. In order to speed up the competition preparation – If you can, rename your images to include your full name. We’ll also be taking orders for mount & backing board sets. €7 each. Please have correct change if you can. See you all there.

The night with Wedding Photographer Adrian O’Neill originally scheduled for Dec. 1st has been deferred to a later date. We will  instead have a general night on photography,equipment and Photoshop, so bring along cameras etc and laptops and have any questions you may have answered.
