A very special thank you to our guest photographer last Monday night, the renowned photographer Morgan O’Neill. Morgan is a member of The Cork Camera Group and has numerous awards to his credit including a Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF). Only a handful of photographers achieve this award each year. Morgan not only achieved his Fellowship on his first attempt, but over the past few years the quality of his work has ensured his rapid rise through the ranks of Irish photography and he and and is also a seasoned salon competitor.
Morgan’s fellowship panel was on display on the night and consisted of photographs of interiors of old unoccupied Irish houses, and gave an intriguing insight into a time gone by, and how people lived. The superb composition, and use of colour, varying from subtle to vivid was achieved in difficult lighting conditions. Morgan also specializes in portrait photography for which he is very well known. His stunning portraiture is inspiring to anyone who has ever pressed a shutter button and his lighthearted approach to public speaking is always both entertaining and informative.
Thank you Again Morgan for for a wonderful night
Jim Heffernan from Fermoy and a member of Blackwater Photographic Society being presented with his silver medal from John Cuddihy president of the IPF and Michael Maher of Maher’s Photographic (sponsors). Jim won the silver medal in the IPF National Nature competition 2013/2014 colour print open intermediate in Kilkenny last Sunday.
