Last Monday we had photographers Sean Connolly Thornhill, Connie Sheehan, Brendan McPhillips, Kieran O’Mahony and Jim Heffernan all showing their portfolios. Thanks lads for sharing your work. It’s not easy to get up in front of everyone for the first time (unless you’re Jim!!) and talk about your images so thank you all for a very entertaining night.
Next is a quick reminder – we have our first in-house competition of this season, this coming Monday (6th October). A total of 5 images per member (including print and or projected) can be submitted on the night so bring your selected prints or digital images with you.
The theme is open so any type of image can be submitted. The images will be judged by three society members, there will be three categories: Novice, Non-advanced and Advanced. In the interest of fairness, please don’t enter images you’ve already used in any previous Blackwater Photography Society competitions. Best of luck to all competitors.
Finally – please make sure to bring your images for submission for the upcoming Shield competition. This is a club based national competition and is only open to Novice and Non-advanced photographers so if you’d like your images to be part of the selection process for the Club panels make sure and bring those along (largest jpeg or raw files you have) next Monday too.
